Lib dem and BNP candidates must stand in Haltemprice and Howden

Apparently the Tory MP is saying it would be a gutless act of the labourgovernment not to field a candidate in his seat.
Plus that the labour party was treating his constituents with "contempt". Well if that is the case why did he ask the Lib Dem candidate to stand down. You cannot pick and choose you opponents. This is not a fixed dodgy heavy weight boxing championship match run by the Mafia.
You cannot on the one hand have the BNP and Libs dems candidates refusing to stand as they support your rejection of 42 day "tough on terror" detention and then force another party to stand.
The labour party have a right to claim this is a stunt.
You have no right to force anyone to stand it is free country. I thought that is what you Tories said you were standing for.
Stalin showed the left can be tough on national security and terror. I do not support the mass murders of Stalin. But the fact is the left are often tougher on national security than the right wing. As we see on this issue.
Anyway if labour do not stand a candidate it will be OK for rebel labour MPs to campaign with you as you will not technically be a rival candidate as you will not be standing against labour. So surely that should make you happier.
