Stalin showed the left can be tough on national security

It is a myth that the left have to weak in combating terror and ensuring national security. Look at Stalin. He kicked Hitler's butt all the way back to his bunker in Berlin to a massive defeat.
Plus Clem Attlee the UK deputy PM then PM in WW2, beat the Germans and the Japanese in WW2.
I am not a supporter of Stalin's ethnic cleansing and 20 million murders. But I just use him as an example that it is a fallacy that the left have to be liberal in national security. We can be the toughest and most cutting of all, when we need to be.
And it sees we are now. The BNP, the UKIP and right wing Tories have all said they do not back the 42 day terror detention. So as is often the case the left are stronger on national security than the right wing.
